Total is operating its Leuna, Germany, refnery complex at reduced capacity due to the ongoing issue of contaminated Russian crude oil supplies. The 210,000 b/d facility’s capacity will remain limited for an unspecifed period, according to Total. The company “had to take out of operation some units of the refnery last week in order to make appropriate technical checks,” it says. This is due “to the prolonged exceptional situation on the Russian crude contaminated with high levels of organic chloride,” it adds.
