Borealis breaks ground on Kallo PDH plant

Borealis has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its second propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant on its existing production site at Kallo, Belgium. The new facility will have a targeted production capacity of 750,000 metric tons/year of propylene, with Borealis saying it will invest a total of approximately €1 billion ($1.1 billion) over the course of the project, making it the company’s largest-ever investment in Europe. The start-up of the new plant is scheduled for mid-2022.
