Lanxess acquires biocides producer

Lanxess said today that it has acquired privately owned Itilbanyl Produtos Especiais (IPEL; Jarinu, Sao Paulo), a leading producer of biocides in Brazil. The acquisition will strengthen Lanxess’s position as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of active biocidal ingredients and formulations, the company says. The transaction is subject to approval by antitrust authorities and is expected to be completed in the frst quarter of 2020.
