High pressure tests of hydrogen turbine combustor

摘要

A hydrogen-combustion turbine system is needed for clean power generation with high efficiency in the future. In the WE-NET program promoted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, we are conducting research about a hydrogen combustor for such a turbine system. The critical design conditions are hydrogen/oxygen stoichiometric combustion and 1,700°C at the combustor outlet. A sector model of an annular combustor was developed and its basic performance was confirmed by tests under high pressure conditions. Oxygen was premixed with steam at the burner to prevent metal damage by pure oxygen and to decrease the flame temperature. Residual hydrogen and oxygen were suppressed to the same order as the equilibrium concentration at the designed flame temperature. The metal temperature of the combustor liner was within a tolerable level.
