摘要

A comparative analysis of the equations used inliterature for the description of the standard backgroundmethod in conditions of x-ray fluorescence analysis isperformed and exemilified in determination of themacrocontent of (> 1 wt.percent) Sr and Ba in carbonatites andTa and Nb in ore concentrates. A comparison is performed in amodel experiment using theoretical values of the intensities offluorescence and scattered radiation with allowance for theeffect of absorption inhomogeneity of powder samples and forthe measurements of the samples of the known composition.Proceeding from the theoretical data a conclusion is madeabout the preferable set of equations for model powder samplesof fine and coarse grinding. Experimental data reasonablymatch the calculations thus making possible a substantiatedchoise of equations used for description.
