日本産南方系ホンダワラ属【7】マジリモクとシマウラモク，タマエダモクの関係

摘要

Sargassum carpophyllum J. Agardh recorded firstly based on the specimen collected from Hong Kong in south China is distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions. In Japan, this species is growing on the sandy rock and coral brock. This species is characterized by: 1) small holdfast and terete main branches with smooth surface; 2) liner to narrow lanceolate leaves with small dentate margin; 3) spherical vesicles, rarely with spines on the top of vesicle and 4) monoecious receptacles with small leaf or vesicle. Sargassum incanum Grunow is distributed in Kyushu in Japan mainly. This species has some morphological characteristics similar to S. carpophyllum. S. incanum distributed in Japan is currently regarded as a taxonomic synonym of S. carpophyllum by the result of DNA analysis.
