Hard-X-ray microscopic phase imaging is one of promising techniques for non-destructively visualizing internal microstructures in samples. In this paper, hard-X-ray microscopic phase imaging techniques using gratings that we have recently developed are briefly reviewed. The approaches presented here have advantages over conventional X-ray imaging techniques, and provide powerful ways for quantitatively visualizing structural information on microstructures with sizes less than 1 μm.
