摘要

To determine the active substances of royal jelly (RJ), we fractionated RJ to protein, peptide and low molecular fraction and examined the effects of RJ fraction on CRE-mediated transcription and protein phosphorylation. Only low molecular substance of RJ increased CRE-mediated transcription in PCI 2D cells. Moreover, this fraction induced CREB and ERK phosphorylation. These results suggest that the activities of RJ on CRE-mediated transcription and protein phosphorylation depend on low molecular active substance. Moreover, these activities are resistant to protease. RJ may activate effectively neuronal functions via enhancement of CRE-mediated transcription.
