摘要

Thc diesel engine has excellent features for fuel economy and CO{sub}2 emission. However, reduction of NOx and particulatc from diesel engines becomes an urgent problem in order to keep the global environment. This paper describes combustion and exhaust characteristics in using the new combustion technologies such as high fuel pressure injection systems cooled ECIT systems and a new combustion concept. In addition, research trends of exhaust gas after-treatment technologies such as UPE, CRT and SCR systems for reducing particulate are introduced.
