Exxon readies Equatorial Guinea tender

ExxonMobil is preparing to invite expressions of interest for repair and upgrade to the floating production unit (FPU) on the Zafiro field off Equatorial Guinea. Production first started from the field in Block B back in 1996 via the Zafiro Producer FPSO. The US major quickly discovered the potential for production upside and Oceaneering worked as project manager for the Phase 2 FPSO upgrade which lasted through three West African construction seasons until 1999. The Oceaneering work scope covered all aspects of engineering, procurement fabrication and installation to outfit the vessel for a production life of 15 years with a contract value of around LIS $230m.
