Exxon takes rig for Equatorial Guinea spree

ExxonMobil has contracted a rig for six wells off Equatorial Guinea starting early next year. Transocean's Deepwater Driller HI semisub will be reactivated and arrive in February on a dayrate of $192,000 under a contract that will last until July. The drilling location is currently unknow but the firm has the Zafiro field and last year made the Avestruz discovery in Block EG-06 which it was assessing as a tie-back. Avestruz is adjacent to Zafiro.
