Afren sacks bosses as US $17m hived off

The senior management of Afren have been sacked after an investigation concluded that more than US $ 17m was hived off from income and paid in unauthorised bonuses to a network of employees. The Nigerian focussed company originally suspended Chief Executive Officer Osman Shahenshah and Chief Operating Officer Shahid Ullah in August after an audit uncovered irregular payments.
