Sweden's truck maker Volvo last week said it has signed a joint-venture agreement with Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited -China's leading manufacturer of heavy trucks - which it claims will make it the world's largest manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks AB Volvo's strategically cunning joint venture deal with China's Dongfeng probably nudged aside former long-running global heavy truck leader Mercedes. That's the message from AB Volvo, which is set to acquire a 45 per cent stake in Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles (DFCV), a newly created subsidiary of China's Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (DFG).
