Japan is becoming a more important exporter of jet fuel even as the domes- tic aviation market continues to recover. Refiners ramped up jet out- put to nearly 300,000 b/d in March, with 41,000 b/d of that volume chan- neled into export markets. Internal demand jumped by 18% in March to 248,000 b/d amid a surge in liftings for domestic and international flights. Jet yields climbed to 8.6% even as through- put rates fell to 86% of capacity.
