It seems most MPCNC users simply clamp the workpiece to the table, drag the gantry to a convenient XY origin, touch off the Z origin, and start the G-code program. In fact, the basic MPCNC design doesn't include per-axis home switches, because they don't add much value to what's basically a CNC router intended for loose-tolerance wood carving.
