Immunotherapy is indicated in IgE-de-pendent diseases including allergic rhinitis and selected cases of bronchial asthma that fail to respond to usual therapy. Immunotherapy is the only treatment that induces long-term remission following discontinuation in adults and has been shown to prevent progression of rhinitis to asthma and the onset of new sensitizations in children.
