摘要

Healthcare executives and supervisors are often concerned about the rates and reasons for employee turnover, especially the turnover of nurses. Although there have been reasons to believe that first-time newly hired licensed nurses have the highest turnover rates, there hasn't been any substantive, large-scale empirical research to substantiate such beliefs. But in 2006, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) funded a 10-year research project, spearheaded by Christine Kovner, RN, PhD., FAAN, professor, New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing, and Carol Brewer, RN, PhD, FAAN, UB Distinguished Professor, Emerita, University of Buffalo, the State University of New York, School of Nursing. I recently had the pleasure to interview Dr. Kovner on this important study, which has produced many reports and results to date.
