Levinasian Insights Into Relational Healing

Gillett and Huang (2013) approach research and therapy with people with psychopathic tendencies froma relational perspective that is critical of the received biomedical and individual perspective pervasive in psychology and neuroscience. By offering this critique, they contribute to an important, but often overlooked, literature that critiques the received view in psychology as it impacts clinical, counseling, social, experimental, cognitive, and developmental psychology as well as neuroscience and the methodology of this received view (see, e.g., Downs, Gantt, and Faulconer 2012; Slife, Reber, and Richardson 2005).
