MORE THAN A REGIONAL PIPELINE

Vivi Rosenlew, Baltic Connector Oy, Finland, provides an overview of the Balticconnector pipeline project, which intends to contribute to an integrated common EU gas market. The Balticconnector pipeline, constructed between Finland and Estonia, ended Finland's gas market isolation in January 2020, enabling the opening of the Finnish gas market and creating a more integrated common EU gas market that ensures security of supply. The first steps for this project began back in 2015, and significant steps were made to ensure completion on schedule at the end of 2019.
