4. Indian Ocean

The floater market in the Indian Ocean remains dominated by activity in India, to meet ONGC's exploration and production targets, but also exploration and development campaigns off Myanmar and East Africa. Most of the floaters are contracted for long-term charters; of the 12 floaters contracted, 10 roll off contract in 2020 and 2021. One deepwater semi, Diamond Offshore's Ocean Monarch, will mobilise to Myanmar later in the year for an 18-month campaign. The Indian Ocean market has a mix of both mid-water and deepwater demand, and currently there are six mid-water floaters on charter and six deepwater floaters.
