Vietnam on the Hunt for Extra Imports

Vietnam has become the latest Asian country to show its huge appetite for natural gas, joining nations like China and Thailand (WGI May 10'17). No fewer than six gas and LNG agreements have been inked by state-controlled Petrovietnam on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit that concluded recently in Danang, central Vietnam, as the country intends to secure the fuel to meet demand growth. But these deals are preliminary in nature and challenges abound.
