Our Americas Petrochemicals Risk/Reward Index has seen no change in ranking and average score for the region in 0120, but exposure to the US-China trade war has impacted on some markets. US petrochemicals products that had been intended for the Chinese market are now swamping Latin American markets, dragging down prices, narrowing margins and undermining the competitiveness of producers in these countries. However, other markets have seen an improvement in risk, based on strengthening domestic demand, which should see demand growth sustained through 2020.
