BIZ: R&D/Project TECH: Electric Drive-BEV: Volvo demonstrates electric heavy duty trucks

USA/Sweden - Volvo Trucks North America Inc (VTNA) of Greensboro, North Carolina, United States last month at TEC Equipment in Fontana, California, USA (a subsidiary of TEC Equipment Inc of Portland, Oregon, a major west coast dealer of Volvo and Mack Trucks) offered customers a first look at its North American Class 8 battery-electric project trucks. This demonstration was part of the Volvo Low Impact Green Heavy Transport Solutions (LIGHTS) project, a collaboration between 16 public and private partners to demonstrate the viability of all-electric freight haulage in high-density traffic and urban areas, first initiated back in September 2018.
