Tips for nursery raising of vegetables

Healthy and disease free planting material is the key to success in vegetable cultivation. An expert vegetable grower adhering to all the recommended cultivation practices is bound to fail in absence of good quality planting material. But sadly, thisfactor is the least bothered aspect from farmer's point of view. In vegetable crops, seeds of varieties/hybrids are very costly. Therefore, proper nursery management and transplanting operations should be carried out for better germination, protection from various diseases and production of quality seedlings. The vegetables in which nursery can be grown are tomato, chilli, capsicum, onion, brinjal,cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and lettuce.
