A petition was filed by Jan Sahyog Manch an NGO in the National Green Tribunal (NGT), Principal Bench, New Delhi stating the issue of lead contamination in daily life by using Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipes extensively in plumbing, agriculture, sanitation etc.
