Plans for European PDH plant progress / Startup delayed to 2022 / Work on FEED phase to begin

Borealis (Vienna / Austria; www.borealisgroup.com) is furthering plans for another propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant in Kallo / Belgium. The company has announced it intends to carry out front end engineering design (FEED), following the conclusion of a feasibility study in June 2017. The final investment decision is expected to be made in Q3 2018. The plant, targeted to have a capacity of 740,000 t/y, is scheduled to start up in 2022. Previously, the company had said operations will begin in the second half of 2021.
