The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of fungicide programs (repeated applications and rotations of various products) for the control of anthracnose on an annual bluegrass putting green. A field experiment was conducted at the OSU Lewis-Brown Horticulture Farm in Corvallis, OR. The research was initiated on June 15, 2018 on a putting green that was built in 2009 by placing 12" of USGA spec sand over a silty clay loam soil with flat drainage, and then established with Poa annua cores (Emerald Valley Golf Course, Cresswell, OR). Experimental design was a randomized complete block design, with four replications, and individual plots were 16 ft2 (4 ft x 4 ft). Fungicide treatments were applied using a CO2-pressurized hand-held boom sprayer equipped with four TeeJet 80015 spray nozzles spraying 2 gallons of spray solution per 1000ft2 set to 40 psi at the boom. The trial was fertilized on 8 Jun and 17 Aug at 0.20 lbs. N/1000ft2 on each application with Anderson's 28-5-18 + micros. Anthracnose severity was assessed visually as percent disease (0-100%) per plot and was collected biweekly from 22 Jun to 14 Sept. Data was subjected to analysis of variance using SAS (version 9.3) and significant treatment effects were separated using Fisher's Protected Least Significant Difference (LSD) at a 0.05 level of probability.
