摘要

"Acornfield will never again look the same to me," is one reader's response to journalist Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma, a NaturalHistory of Four Meals. Pollan examines the American food trip using the framework of four meals and the story of their ingredients, from soil to dinner plate. His introduction, Our National Eating Disorder, is followed by three sections: Industrial Corn, Pastoral Grass, and Personal: the Forest. Whether a reader accepts his culinary road map, Pollan's detailed reporting offers some serious food for thought about how we nourish ourselves.
