New Century Exploration is well known in Gulf Coast conventional circles, but the Houston E&P now considers itself "biventional"—a hybrid conventional/unconventional operator, with a bias to unconventional. "When unconventionals came along, we got into the Eagle Ford," said New Century president and CEO Phil Martin, "and that is our primary asset right now.
