Hornitos Poppy Jasper

Hornitos, California, is a mid-1800s Old Western gold mining town nestled in the rolling foothills just north of Mariposa and near Yosem-ite, and home to many varieties of orbicular jaspers. Hornitos has a vast BLM land area to rockhound in, much of it either has claims on it, or the area has been picked over pretty thoroughly over the years. Even though there's not much to be found in nature anymore, it can still be found at rock shops, shows, and online.
