Preparing Students for a Radiation Therapy internship

Preparation is important to succeeding in unknown situations. For radiation therapy students entering clinical internships, preparation is critical if they are to succeed in their goal of becoming certified radiation therapists. Although no amount of preparation can equip radiation therapy students with all the tools necessary to navigate every situation that arises during their clinical experience, educators can implement tactics that help students feel more prepared and confident as they enter the hospital or clinical environment. This article outlines a strategy that educators at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse use to help prepare students for internships and for professions in radiation therapy.
