Professor Guram Chilaya's 80th anniversary

An outstanding physicist in area of liquid crystal physics, Prof. Guram Chilaya, celebrated his 80th anniversary in Institute of Crystallography (Moscow) on 31 August 2017. He was born in Tbilisi on 29 July 1937. His parents were a famous Georgian scientist and writer Sergo Chilaya (father) and Maria Sanadiradze (mother). In 1960 he graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Tbilisi State University. His graduation thesis work, 'Separate determination of donor and acceptor concentrations in silicon' was performed at the Lebedev Institute of Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
