BIODIESEL BLENDING ALMOST DOUBLED IN EARLY 2020 UNITED KINGDOM

Biodiesel consumption in February 2020 totalled 155 mln litres (around 136,000 tonnes), a plus of 57% on the year, HM Custom data show, following a 140% increase to 149 mln in January. The Jan/Feb total reached 304 mln litres, up 89% y/y. The rise in the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) to 9.75% vol. from January 1, 2020 from 8.50% in 2019 was the main reason behind this. Diesel use rose only slightly.
