BRAZILIAN COMPANIES LOSE GROUND IN WORLD SUGAR RANKINGS

Brazil's focus on ethanol, the poor beet crop in the EU and the strong pace of sugar production in India and Thailand have prompted a major reshuffling in this year's world sugar rankings.Our data suggest that most of the world's Top 20 sugar companies greatly reduced their production in 2018/19 after the 2017/18 high prompted prices to fall to multi-annual lows.
