6 Conclusions and Directions for Future Research

摘要

The goal of this monograph is to help establish a framework for the various research areas within operations management of financial services and operational risk management. Over the last decade, operations management in financial services has started to receive more attention from the academic community; however, the level of research interest is still somewhat low. The operational risk area is still not as well understood as the credit risk and the market risk area. The level of misunderstanding is most likely due to the many different aspects of Operational Risk. In this section we provide an overview of the current state of the art in operations management in financial services and in operational risk management; it also lists some future research directions that may be of interest.
