Implications Skinless chicken breast meat can be enriched with long chain n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC n-3 PUFA)using sustainable sources (linseed oil). Adding additional folic acid to the diet does not increase the accumulation of LC n-3 PUFA. Over 40% of the LC n-3 PUFA in chicken meat is present as DPA (C22:5 n-3) and the health effects of DPA needto be established.
