Republicans want clean energy in next stimulus

A group of Republican US senators wants support for renew- ables and other clean energy technologies in the next Covid-19 relief package, arguing the funds would counteract layofs and furloughs caused by the pandemic. US senator Thom Tillis (North Carolina) and six of his Re- publican colleagues say it would be “fscally prudent” to invest in renewables, nuclear, carbon capture, advanced transporta- tion and energy storage in the legislation.
