Saudi supplies lift US Gulf coast June imports

A torrent of Saudi medium sour crude lifted total US Gulf coast June imports higher than 2019 levels, despite a 17pc drop in the region's crude processing over the same period. US imports of crude to the midcontinent and to the Atlan-tic and west coasts all fell in June compared to 2019, accord-ing to the latest Energy Information Administration data. Total imports fell by 11pc to 6.4mn b/d. But continued receipts of Saudi crude more than ofset shrinking Iraqi, Brazilian and other deliveries, to increase Gulf coast imports for the month by almost 480,000 b/d compared to same month of last year.
