Moody’s dims outlook on Mexico’s oil industry

The outlook for Mexico’s oil industry is negative, in part be- cause of “nationalistic” policies imposed by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Moody’s Investors Service said. “The government’s more nationalistic view of the indus- try means Pemex will not enter into new farm-outs for the foreseeable future, and risks accelerating the depletion of its existing oil felds while devoting all of its eforts to stabilizing and then increasing oil production,” Moody’s said.
