Anode coke: Prices slip on weaker calcined coke

Anode-grade petroleum coke prices fell further in April in most regions as Chinese calcined coke oversupply forces sup- pliers globally to consider lower prices in the second quarter. Quarterly negotiations are still ongoing, but calciners acknowledge it will be difcult to maintain frst-quarter pricing considering competition from Chinese sellers. This is causing them to pressure refners to lower green coke prices.
