Whether at work or in our spare time, we have all come across that person who appears cool, calm and collected in everything they do. We may even have envied them. What we need to remember is that confidence is not a personality trait; that person's behaviour and attitude is a sign that they believe in themselves and in their ability to succeed. In their first job as a qualified veterinary surgeon it's likely a new graduate will have varying levels of confidence. So, what can you do to ensure your new graduate gets the support they need to feel confident in practice?
