NEW SATRA Award supports”Shoemakers of the future’

A 2019 graduating footwear student at London College of Fashion,UAL,will be awarded ￡ 3,000 towards furthering her career in the footwear industry,by research and testing organisation SATRA to mark its centenary.Rachael Moore was chosen from three UAL finalists to be the winner of the SATRA Centenary Award which was panelled by the SATRA experts.The award also includes a place on the industry-recognised SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist(SAFT)course later in the year.The prize and the training are aimed at helping the winner complement her studies and achievments to date.After the finalists’ interviews,the panel also decided to offer”Runner up award”to Klaudia Janiszewka,who will be offered the opportunity to attend some of the SAFT modules considered most appropriate to enhance the work she is planning for the future.”It is inspiring to see new talent coming through,”said Lynne Fenyk,SATRA’s Footwear,Divisional Manager.
