New gap filler for electronics applications

Wacker has introduced anew heat-conducting, silicone-based gap filler material for the electronics industry. Semicosil 961 TC is a highly filled, two-component silicone rubber that cures at room temperature by means of a platinum-catalysed addition reaction to form a soft, flexible silicone elastomer with a tacky surface. The cured gap filler has a thermal conductivity of two watts per metre kelvin and also provides electrical insulation.
