The idea of building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) is gradually expanding its reach throughout ASEAN countries, although, it is faced with lots of challenges in this emerging economy region. Primarily these are because of the various economic limitations in adopting this expensive technology, which involves huge investment in construction of the BIPV system integration that accounts for 30-50 percent of the amount invested in the project or zero-energy building.
