Exports fall to 18-month low in June

Loadings at US liquefaction facilities fell further in June to their lowest since December 2018, driven by a drop in exports from the 15mn t/yr Freeport facility and US producer Cheniere Energy’s two terminals. Aggregate US exports fell to 2.45mn t in June from 4.03mn t in May, according to preliminary vessel-tracking data based on vessel size, and an average 5.13mn t/ month in January-April, according to US Department of Energy (DOE) data. Loadings were also lower than the 3.12mn t in June 2019, according to DOE data, despite a 60pc increase in liquefaction capacity to 73.5mn t/yr from 45.7mn t/yr.
