UK prices ease amid ample LNG flows

1. UK NBP prompt and near-curve prices dropped in the second half of October as continued strong sendout in northwest Europe limited the call on storage, even as temperatures dipped. Aggregate UK regasification picked up again towards the end of the month to clear space for a spate of deliveries in late October. Isle of Grain sendout to the national transmission system reached its highest since early March on 30 October. Weak early-winter spot LNG demand in Asia-Pacific - because stocks are close to capacity across the region - has lifted the number of cargoes available for delivery to Europe. A rise in freight rates in recent weeks has discouraged suppliers near northwest Europe from shipping cargoes east.
