Turkey’s transport ministry has tightened navigation rules for tankers passing through the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles straits, connecting the Black Sea with the Mediterranean region. Tankers of 200m and longer must now pass through the Bosporus only during daylight and accompanied by a tug-boat. The same restriction applies to vessels of 250m and longer for their passage through the Dardanelles.
