Sovcomflot to operate LNG-fuelled tankers

Russian state-owned shipping firm Sovcomflot (SCF) will become the first in the world to receive LNG-fuelled Aframax oil tankers next year. South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard should complete the Kutuzovsky Prospect, Lomonosovsky Prospect, Michurinsky Prospect and Nakhimovsky Prospect in the second half of 2018. The 114,000 dwt vessels ordered early this year will carry crude and products, mainly in the Baltic and North seas.
