The amount of planned biomass power generation capacity in Japan has nearly halved since the country’s revised feedin-tariff (FiT) act took eff ect in April 2017. The combined capacity of biomass power plants that have received government approval to operate was around 6,677MW at the end of 2017, according to the latest data from Japan’s ministry of economy, trade and industry (Meti).
