SHARING AND CARING FOR ROSES:Nurturing Roses and a Growing Rose Community

With thousands of rose plants that need tending, and thousands of curious visitors each year, the Huntington Rose Garden relies on volunteers to keep the gardens tended and to answer visitor questions. For many of the volunteers, being able to spend afew hours a week amongst the roses is a magical experience that also provides friendship and some outdoor activity. The joy of rose gardening without having to do all of the heavy lifting helps them remain connected, while having an important purpose: to educate others about roses and the pleasure they can bring to your garden with minimal effort.
